Prohibited 

  • Articles of gold, silver and precious metals without indications of actual fineness of quality
  • Controlled chemicals/substances/precursors
  • Drugs (i.e., marijuana, poppy, coca leaves, heroin, opium or any other prohibited drugs; opium pipes and parts thereof) or substances for abortion
  • Endangered species
  • Firearms and firearm parts, replicas, explosives and ammunition
  • Gambling machines and articles, jackpot or pinball machines, lottery sweepstakes tickets, coin operated video machines
  • Misbranded and/or adulterated drugs or foodstuffs
  • Printed subversive, obscene and pornographic materials
  • Weapons, ammunition, explosives

Restricted

  • Alcohol and tobacco for personal use only
  • Currency:  it is illegal for any incoming or outgoing passenger to bring in or out Philippine Pesos in excess of P10,000.00 without prior authority from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. 
    Foreign currency in excess of US$10,0000 or its equivalent in other foreign currencies must be declared to a Customs Officer or the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
  • Endangered Species require permit from the Dept. of Environment and National Resources (DENR)
  • Firearms, Parts, Ammunition, etc. require a permit from the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO)
  • Live Animals and Meat require import permit from Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI)
  • Foodstuffs
  • Marine and Aquatic Products require a permit from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)
  • Medicines and the like require a permit from the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAC)
  • Plants, planting materials, fruits and vegetables must all be accompanied by valid quarantine documents and permit from Bureau of Plant Industry (Import Permit/Authority to Import)
  • Relief, charitable and/or humanitarian organizations intending to donate for free distribution or extend free medical, dental or any other services to the less privileged must coordinate with the Philippine Department of Social Welfare and Development through the Philippine Embassies and/or consulates abroad, for purposes of clearance, prior to actual departure.  Donations must be covered by a Deed of Donation and Deed of Acceptance, approved by the Department of Finance
  • Transceivers, Communication Equipment, etc.  require permit from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC)
  • TV, Movie, Film Print and Negatives, etc. require permit from Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB)
  • VHS, Tapes, CDs, DVDs, etc. require permit from the Optical Media Board (OMB)
