Philippines Communications: Dialing Guide
Basic Calling Information
Area Codes and Local Numbers
- Area code + local number in the Philippines totals eight to 11 digits.
- Most area codes in the Philippines are two digits, but they can contain one to four digits.
- Local numbers in the Philippines contain five to seven digits.
- When calling between cities within the Philippines, dial the DAC ("0") before the area code. Do not dial this access code when calling from another country.
Mobile Phones
- Mobile phone numbers in the Philippines contain nine to 10 digits.
- The first two or three digits signify the cellular network to which the number belongs and are followed by seven or eight digits. Mobile phone numbers always start with "8" or "9."
Special Numbers and Services
- The Philippines currently does not provide toll-free or premium number services.
Tones
- Ring tone: Equal tones, separated by long pauses
- Busy tone: Equal length on and off tones
