Export: Right to Export
The following entities are authorized to export physical articles from the Philippines:
- Registered exporters
- Licensed customs brokers acting under authority from a registered exporter
- A person legally empowered to act as agent or attorney-in-fact for an exporter
To become an authorized exporter, two steps must be taken.
- Register as a business with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), for sole proprietorships, or the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), for partnerships and corporations; the city or municipality where the business is operated; and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). Upon registration the entity will receive a taxpayer identification number (TIN) from the BIR.
- Register online with the Philippine Bureau of Customs’ (BOC) (www.customs.gov.ph) Client Profile Registration System (CPRS). Registration is done through the appropriate Approving Authority’s website:
- Philippine Export Confederations Inc. (Philexport) – for its member exporters and all first-time exporters
- DTI-Export Confederations Inc. (EMB) – for coffee exporters and all exporters accredited under the Export Development Act (EDA)
- Board of Investments (BOI) – for BOI-registered exporting companies
- Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) – for PEZA locators
- Freeport Zones Authorities (SBMA, CDC, AFAB, ZEZA, etc.) – for their own respective locators
