Originally established in 1909 as a boarding school for the sons of American families stationed in the Philippines, Brent International School Manila has a long history associated with the Episcopal Church. Today, it is a Christian coeducational day school enrolling children from nursery to grade 12 from all nationalities and backgrounds. An American-style curriculum is used, and it culminates with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. Students are required to wear a school uniform, and transportation is available.

Brent International School Manila is divided into four sections: Early Learning Center for nursery through grade 2, Lower School for grade 3–5, Middle School for grade 6–8, and Upper School for grades 9–12. A US curriculum is used, and graduates earn the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. Instruction is in English, and English-as-a-second-language (ESL) classes are available.

The school's nearly 11-hectare (26-acre) campus is located south of Alabang. Facilities include a cafeteria, theater, swimming pool, two gymnasiums, computer labs, two media centers/libraries, science labs, fitness center, basketball court, two volleyball courts, baseball field, Early Learning Center, eight covered tennis courts, running track, pond, and alumni center.

The school's Executive Board consists of the president, executive vice-president, school level vice-presidents, secretary, and treasurer. These positions are elected at the Annual General Meeting in May.

Founded in 1920, International School Manila (ISM) is a private, nonprofit, day school for boys and girls from preschool through grade 12. It is divided into three sections: elementary school, middle school, and high school.

The curriculum in elementary school is inquiry-based and challenges the students to be creative, independent thinkers. In the middle and high schools, the program is subject-based and culminates in courses leading to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. The curriculum is under constant review to ensure that it reflects best practices from around the world. An English-as-a-second-language (ESL) program is offered. Learning support teachers throughout the school provide assistance and guidance to students in need. The foreign languages program includes Chinese, Filipino, French, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.

The school's facilities include a running track, three athletic fields, sports hall, eight tennis courts, three air-conditioned gymnasiums, three libraries, 920-seat theater, small multipurpose theater with retractable seating, performance hall with retractable seating and stage, design technology and robotics suite, music wing, fully equipped film lab, specialized learning support center, and early years center.

International School Manila (ISM) is governed by a 10-member Board of Trustees, with members elected for three-year terms by parents. The school is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
